"The staff went above and beyond"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Cardiology Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Combined Assessment Unit Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

Suffered extremely rapid heart rate, and taken by ambulance to CAU at Dumfries and Galloway Infirmary, blues and sirens for the sixty mile journey. On arrival was made to feel at ease and comfortable whilst the medical staff made their assessment. A drug route was tried but without success and it was decided to contact the cardiac team to do a stop start proceedure on my heart which was completely successful. All the staff in the unit went above and beyond to help me and reassure me. In the middle of the covid pandemic they were there for me. I stayed approximately 36hrs and would particularly like to thank Siobhan my nurse during my stay.

Dear Mohawk Pete

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us on Care Opinion.

I would like to say that I am so sorry to read that you had reason to use our Services. I do hope that you are feeling better and on the road to a full recovery.

However, I am really pleased to read about the experience you received from all the staff involved. 60 miles under blue lights and sirens is a fair treck and I bet you were glad to be out when it was all over. I am also pleased to read that your cardioversion was succesfull.

I would like to wish you all the very best for 2021 and thanks again!

Kind Regards

Alan
