"Carers Support Hub"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Carer services

(as a carer),

My wife Katharine, a dementia sufferer, and I joined this hub some twelve months ago. From the very start we were met with a very warm welcome by an supportive group of people with different backgrounds and experiences but willing to share the challenges we all meet as carers. For us the attraction is having an option to engage in craft activities, something more physical such as yoga or simply sitting down for tea, cake and a chat, all in a very informal, flexible and non judgemental atmosphere. The restrictions imposed on us by the current Covid which now preclude our weekly Hub visits have made me realise just how much value we place on havens such as the Edwinstowe so capably hosted by Outside The Cave, Edwinstowe.

Hi AndyAW, thank you so very much for taking the time to provide your feedback, really appreciated. I work at Nottinghamshire HealthCare Trust and note your feedback refers to the Carers Hub, a partner organisation whom I work closely with. I will ensure your comments are passed on to the manager and relevant staff. Caring is very challenging, even more so with the addition of the pandemic. It is so very hard when the places offering support, activities, cuppa and chat have had to close. Thank you for sharing just how beneficial Outside The Cave, Edwinstowe was for you and Katherine. Stay safe, warmest wishes, Andrea
