I was admitted to the ICU with severe sepsis and multi-organ failure. I would like to pass on my sincere thank you to some of the specific people who saved my life when they took over my breathing, Dr Tom, Dr Ross, ITU nurses Linda and Jackie also Mark and Craig who without a doubt saved my life.
Dr Tom went above and beyond that night to save my life, he never left the bedside. I ended up going to Aberdeen for ECMO, Dr Ross said without a doubt that if it hadn’t of been for them I would not be here today.
Both of the doctors mentioned went out of their way to care for me especially when I was frightened about certain medical procedures such as my tracheotomy coming out. Dr Ross sat beside me for a couple of hours persuading me that no matter what he would take care of me.
The whole team in the ICU at the Western saved me and I will be forever thankful for them giving me a second chance at life!
