"Well done NHS Fife"

About: Victoria Hospital / Radiology

(as a service user),

I was referred by my GP for an MRI scan in December. Given the current pandemic crisis, I had resigned myself to either having to go private or live pain free for more months than would be the norm for a MRI scan.

I called the MRI department yesterday and got a very helpful member of the appointments team. She said that because it was marked as urgent  I had an appointment on the 1st February. She then asked if I could take a cancellation . O said off course I would and I booked in for todays date.

Upon arrival at the Victoria Hospital, I was met politely by a member of staff advising of covid measures, issuing surgical masks for wearing and providing directions. Upon arrival at the MRI department the check in process was straight forward and everything felt covid safe.

The staff conducting the MRI scan could not have been nicer. They complete the paperwork with you and provide clear instruction on what is required. This was really helpful and put me at ease as I've never had an MRI scan before.

I think there is a fear that the NHS is dealing with nothing other than covid and other services are all being put on hold. I cannot fault the service I have received from my GP and the NHS Fife MRI department. Thank you.
