I was brought from Edinburgh to Aberdeen for ECMO I was very poorly and away from my family. The care I received in the ICU from the nurses and doctors was absolutely amazing without them there is no doubt that I would not be here today.

I would like to pass on my sincere thank yous to Dr Friar and also Dr Scott and Dr Gamble who all played massive parts in my care I will never forget what you all did for me. As for the nursing staff who helped me throughout my hospital stay while in for ECMO such as Alley, Fiona, Marcia, Kareem without your constant reassurance and pushing me sometimes beyond my limits I wouldn’t be where I am now.

I was in hospital for 5 months and would like to make the Aberdeen ICU and ECMO retrieval team know that without them I wouldn’t be here you all went above and beyond! I would like to thank the ITU at the western general especially Dr Patterson and Dr Anderson who without a doubt went well beyond there roles as doctors to save my life they fought for me when everyone was giving up hope!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story on care opinion. I am delighted to hear that you are home now and I hope that you are continuing to recover well.

The team will be absolutely delighted to hear your positive feedback and will give them all a much needed lift in these challenging times. The Critical care team have had an incredibly busy time over the last few months and as you say have gone above and beyond to ensure the very best care to our patients.

I will make sure that Dr Friar, Dr Scott, Dr Gamble, Ally, Fiona, Marsaili and Kareem see this lovely compliment and also share with the whole Critical Care team here at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Thank you for taking the time to pass my message on to the team members. Tell Dr Friar I said thank you for making me the envelope he will know who it is then. Is there anyway I could FaceTime the critical care to say a thank you to some of the specific people?
