I have read some of the concerns of other contributors to this site with interest.
I believe that patient care and experience has reduced in the last 2 years because of cuts in staff at the Nottingham hospitals.
Any staff who leave or retire are not replaced unless managers make a real case of need. Usually a member of staff leaving is considered a bonus to balance the budget. The staffing levels through the hospital approach critical levels and all staff are working very hard to ensure patients still get the care they deserve. The medical staff are working to the limits as well as other staff to ensure patients are treated on time.
A large private outpatient facility is due to be opened sometime at QMC but I believe this will be more expensive to run than an NHS facility.
