"the service received as an inpatient"

About: General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde Royal Alexandra Hospital / Radiology Royal Alexandra Hospital / Urology (Ward 28)

(as a service user),

Having been admitted to the Royal Alexandra Hospital (Paisley) in December, I have to say ward 4 staff were absolutely on the ball, the nursing staff were very professional yet friendly, catering and cleaning staff were spot on too.  I had appointments (for bloods and scans) elsewhere and mentioned this to staff who spoke to the relevant people and I got both bloods and scan done during my stay, which was much appreciated indeed.  I then get a very detailed letter (Mr John Graham, consultant urologist) about my kidney stone (size, position, renal function etc) which was very much appreciated also, there is nothing worse than not being informed directly of something that is going on and will affect you, and whether it was Mr Graham or my GP Dr Thomson (Mirin medical practice)  thank you.  Keep up the good work you are appreciated.

Dear Juney66

Thanks very much for getting in touch to tell us how professional and friendly the staff were and that you appreciated their good work. I’m glad to hear that you managed to get your bloods taken and scan whilst in hospital. I agree that it is important that patients are kept informed and it’s good that Mr Graham’s letter provided the information you required and hopefully this reassured you.

Your feedback will be shared with the staff.

Many thanks and Take Care

Alison Craig

Hi Alison Craig

Thank you for your response, and I am pleased to hear that ward 4 staff etc will be told that they were appreciated.

I think sometimes we are quick to complain but slow to commend so when a body goes beyond the call of duty to keep a patient on track and it should be applauded.

I do appreciate being informed in detail so the letter was very welcome, and refreshing.

Thanks again for the reply
