About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as a service user),

I was transferred by my GP. There was a lot of communication the whole time - even whilst I was waiting there was courses to help me get the most out of therapy. This was so helpful and gave me a clear idea of what to expect and some useful advice too. The service is also very non-judgemental and really make you feel at ease.

I was still a bit nervous about starting therapy, but once I started, I felt a lot more confident. My therapist was very supportive and helped me so much. They explained things really clearly, always gave me time to speak and were non-judgemental. I always looked forward to speaking to them. Every session was helpful and has made me feel a lot better. I was challenged every week to try to do something during the week, which also helped put what I had learned into practice.

I liked getting reminders of my sessions too, as well as filling out the weekly questionnaires as it allowed me to be reflective of how I've felt too.

If I need support in the future, I will definetly go back to Inclusion Thurrock. Their service has helped me so much.

Dear Smiley person who likes Gnocchi,

Thank you for sharing your experiences of working with us. It is wonderful to hear that you have gained so much from your therapy sessions and that they have enabled you to feel a lot better since.

You touched on the courses we offer whilst waiting for therapy and these are something we are very proud of. The Time For Change course you attended is often a helpful introduction to therapy and it is great to see that it helped to put you at ease and give you an idea of what to expect from therapy, a process many people can find quite scary. Courses like this are a really helpful use of the time you may wait to see a therapist 1:1 as they ensure you spend that time productively and working towards the goals you had in mind when reaching out to us.

Particularly at the moment, we find the appointment reminders are incredibly helpful, as many of us living such busy lives which are now constantly changing. These text reminders allow clients who have a lot on their plate to keep track of when their next session is and as you mention, the progress questionnaires offer an opportunity for reflection both in and out of sessions.

It sounds like you found your sessions were a space not only to explore the difficulties you were experiencing, but like you say, an opportunity to challenge yourself to take control of them by making small and considered changes each week. This is important because, as you have identified, it allows you to put the learning into practice!

Our aim is that you can continue to put these skills and techniques into practice long after your sessions have ended, so I truly hope you are able to do this and wish you all the best for the future!

Kind regards,

Adam
