"Blood test at QEQM"

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital / General medicine

(as a service user),

I was due a routine blood test but my GP surgery sent me to QEQM. I was not initially pleased at that because I live close to the surgery but some distance from the hospital. I was also nervous about going to a big, busy hospital at the present time.

Reception on arrival was friendly, quick and efficient and my temperature was checked.

The waiting room at the phlebotomy clinic was empty and both nurses were welcoming. The blonde nurse who took my blood was chatty and put me at ease. She was so quick and efficient that the sample had been taken before I realised. No pain and no bruise.

An excellent service.

All credit to the staff involved.
