I have struggled with a eating disorder for many years now and I have been in a specialist eating disorder hospital for 9 and half months and only just been discharged.
I was sectioned with the mental health act 6 weeks in to my admission which I was devastated by but I couldn’t move forward by myself. Looking back now I think it saved my life even though at the time I didn’t see it as that but I will always be thankful for.
When this happened I got told about Sheffield advocacy which I got in touch with and they were really helpful and supportive whilst I was under my section. They have supported me through my Tribunal and hospital managers meeting. My advocate also rang me every week for a catch up and if there was anything they could do to help. They have honestly been great and very supportive.
