I struggled with breastfeeding following our son's birth, and developed mastitis after a few weeks.  If it hadn't been for the amazing care and support from the Breastfeeding Support Unit (on the recommendation of our awesome midwife, Paula), I may well have given up and resigned myself to using formula.

Gillian was with us from the start of our breastfeeding journey, when I was a weary mess in my pyjamas, and couldn't have been more lovely.  She gave me the support I really needed to continue, when I was pretty weak emotionally.

Colette also attended, when I was getting over mastitis and was just wonderful.

The service really is incredible.  You can tell it is more than 'just a job' for these wonderful ladies; they really do care, and that shines through in their kind and attentive nature.  Thank you!

Thanks you so much for your feedback. It sounds like you have had your fair share of challenges. Well done for persevering. Breastfeeding can often be hard work, especially at the beginning, but is usually worth it in the longer term. I am pleased the team were able to link in with our midwifery colleague and support you on your journey and I will make sure Gillian and Collete see your comments. Remember, we are here if there are any future bumps in the road too. I wish you and your wee one well.
