"Grampian sexual health clinic first class care"

About: Aberdeen Health and Care Village / Sexual Health clinic

(as a service user),

After having some issues with my copper coil I contacted my gp who wouldn’t help me atall just told me to get in contact with sexual health clinic which I did and although I had to wait a while for a telephone consultation which I was fine with as I know how busy they are once I had my telephone consultation I was promptly booked in to see the gynae doctor and then had a new coil fitted.

Everyone was very nice and professional and although an uncomfortable procedure they made me feel very at ease. A week or so after having it put in I was having some issues so I contacted my gp who again were no help atall and in fact only sent me an email didn’t even bother to call me about my concerns.

I contacted the sexual health clinic and they got a nurse to call me back that day and took me in the next day for a check up with the doctor. Again my experience was very similar lovely staff and made me feel very comfortable.

Not the first time I’ve been to the sexual health clinic I have attended before for a medical termination and again the staff were first class and so understanding at a very difficult time in my life.

Thank you to all the staff for their help especially at this time when I feel our gp surgeries seem to have forgotten me as a woman and my need for contraception and gynae care during this pandemic

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback and for the lovely comments regarding our staff in the Sexual Health service.

I am sorry that you experienced some delay in gaining a phone consultation with us but pleased to hear that the clinical staff were able to offer you a face to face appointment promptly.

As a service during this difficult time, we continue to strive to make sure our patients receive the best care possible. I am glad to hear this was the case both with your recent and previous experiences with the service, you appear to have been supported exceptionally well by our staff.

I will pass on your thanks and praise to all the staff within Sexual Health, I know they will be delighted with this kind feedback.
