"The service we encountered was unacceptable"

I brought in my brother to a&e recently. we arrived around 10.30am.....he had blood tests and x-ray by 12pm .....

throughout the afternoon upto 6pm we asked how much longer must we wait and was always told waiting on blood/x-ray results when in fact they had comeback by 2.45pm.....

a doctor came saw my brother in the main waiting room took 2 pictures of his feet and advised that they were to speak to the boss and come back to us shortly with an update....well this did not happen.....

we was still waiting at a&e 6pm... finally he saw an alternative consultant/doctor, who then advised us that my brother was referred to orthopodics and that they was to comeback to my brother including this doctor from before.

Due to seeing the doctor so late we was unable to get the medication as Lloyds pharmacy was closed....was told they would be open the next day only to find out they were closed so had to go back to a&e explain my brother needs his meds ...then spend 1hour in the hospital pharmacy waiting to get his meds...and to add further insult was instructed to pay before we can received the medication. 

Why orthopedics and this doctor never came back and/or followed up with us .....why my brother was in a&e from 10.30am - 6.30pm and at no point was he offered any food/drink.....he sat for 8 hours at a&e in pain, hungry and very distraught by the whole experience. 

Unprofessional, slap, dash & shoddy comes to mind at the service we have encountered and is unacceptable and an epic failure by Croydon University Hospital.
