About: Orchard Surgery

Around a month ago I started to get concerned about a breast lump that I'd had for a while, so I filled in a form on their website and was informed they would call me within the next day. I recieved no phone call but wasn't majorly concerned.

Earlier this month I came down with a UTI and put in another form. The website told me to wait for a phone call that day. It wasn't until the evening that I found an email telling me that I needed to drop off a urine sample. Fair enough, I thought, so the next day I took a urine sample to the surgery and was informed it would be tested that day and I would recieve a call informing me on what to do next. Once again, no call. Luckily the infection cleared up within the next week.

This week I was concerned to find out about a family friend who had been diagnosed with breast cancer at quite a young age. This reminded me of the lump I had and prompted me to try and get it checked again to put my mind at ease. So, I called rather than emailed the surgery asking for an appointment. The receptionist told me she would email a doctor and would call that day or the next to confirm an appointment within the week as it was something that needed physically examining. But amazingly I recieved no such call. I called the next day and they told me I'd have to ring in the morning as they are not able to give people appointments in advance. I did this and was told I would get a call from the doctor to discuss my problem. No call. I am very upset. All I want is peace of mind but instead I've been virtually ignored. I needed an appointment this week as I go back to work on Monday and only have weekends off on which days the surgery is closed.
