"Nearly 6 months later and still not seen"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Dermatology New Stobhill Hospital / Dermatology

(as the patient),

Had two ever changing moles, continuously bleeding on my leg for 10 months.

Finally got to speak to GP in July 2020. July this was sent in. Nearly 6 months later and several chases by my GP and still not seen!!

All they have is a couple of pictures that I took myself, no medical professional has seen these moles In person.

I have called the appointment line and being told my local hospitals Glasgow Royal and stobhill aren’t seeing any routine dermatology patients, but other hospitals are I advised I’m happy to go to any hospital, but I was told no this wasn’t possible without a new referral even though I have done this many times before (as parking at GRI or stobhill is a nightmare or costly). Spoke to GP who sent more pictures as moles have changed and to chase you up. Still months later NOTHING!

Pandemic or no pandemic I have a right to treatment and ruling out of cancer!!!

I am sorry to hear about the difficulties you have faced accessing dermatology services, and appreciate how worrying this situation must be for you.

I have passed your feedback on to the senior management team responsible for the service and asked that they respond to your concerns directly.

Kind Regards

Paul
