"Lack of support and empathy"

I am an opiate user who was made to feel unwelcome in groups as to me it seems like pathways is only for alcohol problems. I personally felt like substituting with alcohol, let’s face it I knew nothing about alcoholism until I started zoom groups back in May but I know a lot now all about units what you get given in a home detox as an ambulatory detox in pathways or a week or two in a detox facility seems easier than coming off drugs with no support, plus I had to beg to be on a group after being put on bed rest by my GP due to complications after life saving surgery.
I felt bullied out, was told I’m a "show off" by a facilitator. At least I got support over in the states from NA. I feel that I’m not liked in pathways as I challenge statements, as told to do so, and often suggestions I make are not liked but in a 1hr 30 min group I’m not there to listen to the same check-ins 3 times a day lasting 1hr to 1hr 15 minutes I’m there to concentrate on the similarities not the differences and believe me I now know the differences, but those there for alcohol problems don’t know the differences between themselves and an opiate user.
This may be quite a brief statement I would love to elaborate on but not enough space left. You asked for feedback I gave it - I add very briefly. I am over 6 months clean but I feel this is no thanks to pathways in general just a fabulous key worker, and NA. Groups nearly turned me to alcohol. I must admit one confusing point is one avenue teaches us we are powerless over our disease the other how it’s our choice - very mixed messages! Thought CGL values were bold, honest and compassionate but that's not what I’ve witnessed. Oh well whatever works for that, just give it lip service, I’ve learnt all about that too.
