What I liked
My mother had a cataract operation in your eye surgery department on 20th November 2012. I just wish to acknowledge my appreciation of the care she and I received in that department. The nurses and all staff in all areas of the hospital were very patient and caring. My mum is very deaf and an extremely anxious person. I trained as an SRN at Torbay 1968-1971 and during my career as a nurse and midwife feel generally that nursing and caring standards have declined. I have on a few occasions been an inpatient for medical and surgical reasons in a few hospitals.
From my recent visiting/attending experience at Torbay Hospital with my mum, I was reminded of how I feel nursing and hospital staff should be caring for vunerable people. Thank you Torbay Hospital, and I wish that level of care was available for all in our NHS.
My mum is rather disabled and requires the hospital transport services with ambulance personel. They are also always extremely helpful and caring.
"All staff interacted well and enabled us to feel..."
