I was referred to CGL Huntingdon by my GP earlier this year, just before the Government's first lockdown process started. I live on my own and have no partner or children. This year has been particularly hard for me as a long term depression 'sufferer' and with social contact severely curtailed.
While any underlying personal problems are not resolved (I don't think they ever will be), CGL Huntingdon has been a welcome and valuable resource and support, enabling a maintenance of my position rather than a worsening of it which would have occurred otherwise. To be able to TALK with other people and share experiences has been a great help.If anyone has been referred to CGL but is unsure or shy about it I do urge you to try it. You can listen rather than talk if you prefer. There is no obligation if you feel it isn't for you. However, it DOES present an opportunity for support and sharing.
"A welcomed and valuable resource"
