I have had such a positive experience since being under the care of the rheumatology department at ARI based in Ashgrove House. I became very unwell October 2018 and received my diagnosis of my auto immune disease In January 2019.
I have been supported through flare ups and medication changes and feel there is no problem too small that I cannot ask for help and advice with. Throughout covid 19 I have felt very supported and if I have emailed with a problem one of the doctors or the connective tissue nurse has been in touch through a phone call or email.
I have also attended some face to face appointments recently which during covid has been a worry. I had nothing to worry about as the waiting room was very clean and there was plenty social distancing. My consultant is Dr Dospinescu and she shown me so much care, patience and compassion when I have literally been a gibbering bawling wreck during my appointments.
I also have to say the nurses are amazing and again have shown me care and compassion during my worst times. Dr Dospinescue and her team deserve a gold medal and I am very thankful for all the help I receive from them.
"So thankful for rheumatology"
