I do understand the pressure that all the people working in this environment those days are on and I do appreciate all the hard work that NHS does for all of us but I do not appreciate if someone is rude and treat you bad for no reason even if under pressure.
The first assessment was completely fine, even if I wait for more than 3 hours was fine. I did expect to wait even longer in a hospital. The issue start when I was finally seen by one of the doctor - or maybe a nurse? I explain my issue which was coughing and breathless. She told me that I was in the emergency service, I shouldn’t have come in the hospital for this reason. I came in the hospital by the way because I have this issue for months now and it does affect my life every week and the gp is not helpful so this was my last option, to get some help. Being breathless because you are coughing constantly with no break is horrible, I do no wish to anyone to have this sort of thing. It makes you tired, you cannot sleep, you cannot breath and you throat get infected so quickly is difficult to talk.
She visited me and when she ask me to move for the bed to the chair she was so angry telling to seat on the chair that she repeated twice like I was a kid not listening to her but she couldn’t see that the chair was busy? At the end of the visit she told that from my symptoms I have Long Covid and I ask a simple question: is it possible to know for sure? No answer. No one done for me Covid test since I was accepted in the hospital and they made me wait in the isolation room. If Long Covid is suspected- after 8 months?? - there should be some sort of test to do to figure it out? I ask for an inhaler since it is the only thing make me feel better for at least few hours and she gave it to me. We were in front of the machine to pay for the medicine and she was waving the inhaler in front of me and saying ‘take it!’ in a rude way and again she couldn’t see that I couldn’t take it because both of my hands are busy. I completely understand that they are extremely busy but some manners should be nice to see. She made me feel horrible. If I was not feeling that bad I would have told her this myself that day but I did have an infection in due course that she didn’t even realize since I start to feel much worse few hours after I left the hospital with high temperature, cough, headaches and all the sort of bad flu symptoms on top of my normal ‘Long Covid’ symptoms. I have decide to take a Covid test myself which was negative but can you imagine if I was positive and no one in hospital - accept for the assessment nurse - really cares about it?
