"Basically saving my husband's life"

About: Change Grow Live Cambridgeshire / Wisbech

(as a relative),

My husband continues to improved mentally because of his weekly sessions with Adrian at CGL Wisbech.  Adrian has been encouraging him to face up to his daemons which had an awful lot to do with his addiction. He was lost before he began therapy with Adrian but over time I can see the massive improvement. He has tackled some really big issues with Adrians help and encouragement. Issues that had been buried deep in him and were basically festering within him. His whole persona has changed. He is so much more positive about life. Adrian is encouraging my husband to talk about his past daemons and to change the way he interprets them, teaching him how to break them down and look at the positive. This is really changing his outlook on life. Adrian has talked about ‘survival guilt’ and he is realising just how much of that he has stored up.

He still has his down times which is to be expected but these are happening less frequently. As he comes out of the bad times he is now talking about what caused them.

I can’t praise/thank Adrian for basically saving my husband's life and definitely for saving our marriage.

As treatment continues I see more and more of the ‘happy go lucky’ man I fell in love with 40 years ago. I am certain now that he will continue to improve over time with Adrians guidance and carry on being taught how to dispel his dark thoughts and to continue not being tempted to start drinking alcohol again.

Hi Dizzydawn

One of the most emotional posts I have read on here! Not afraid to say had a tear in my eye and I mean that. You have sung Adrian's praises and for that we are extremely grateful and I am very proud of the service he and the team offers. However, Adrian I'm know will agree with me that it is your husband with the support of yourself who have lived and breathed this and are the ones putting in all the hard work.

I can only say thank you for your comments and that I wish you and your husband best wishes on behalf of the team. Keep going! you can both do it!

Thanks again

Paul
