"Appalling support for patients and staff alike"

About: Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust

What is the sense in having staff (across the board) who are dedicated and do their utmost to make sure patients are well cared for, when the support you offer the staff and patients is poor beyond belief. On four occasions I was asked to air my observations and complaints directly to the hospital by your staff who are "frustrated and brow beaten" into accepting the disgustingly poor support levels. They also believe that your efforts and lack of support are hindering recoveries.

1.At my "check-in" I was surrounded by surgeons talking through operations with other patients (temporary buildings should be no excuse for terrifying pre-op patients).

2.with so many campaigns directed at improving hospital food it is unforgivable to think you are happy to serve what you laughingly try to pass off as nutritious food. Grissly thin, grey beef, wilted thin sliced tomato and stale bread do not make an edible sandwich, and have negligible nutrition.Your "scotch broth" bore more in common to water with cornflour than soup- tasteless.Your staff should be credited for the mainstay and culinary masterpiece and the only edible dish-Toast.

3.To have no ice to reduce wound swelling and no crutches due to size supply problems is close to causing you real problems.

In order for your patients to recover quickly you need to support both them and your staff properly and not just go through the vague impression of care.
