I attended the royal infirmary Edinburgh as I was in a lot of pain burning up vomiting and generally feeling unwell. I had some bloods taken and basic observations. I was sent home and told to ride it out as it was probably a viral infection. This was the Saturday on the Monday I contacted my gp and attended my surgery. The GP seen the results from the hospital and said I have no idea why they sent you home am sending you into the western. My crp was 240.
Long story short if I hadn’t went in I would have passed away as I had sepsis and had an abdominal mass removed. I was in for 4 weeks and on iv antibiotics. I was told my body was basically shutting down and I was sent home from the royal. I am still not fully recovered and have lost over 2 stone.
