"Miscarriage"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Reproductive Medicine

(as a service user),

Hi

In October I started a miscarriage.

Students and a staff would not accept information of my own by constantly asking same question how far I think you were pregnant I wasn't sure 11 or 13 weeks as I'm not a doctor.

They did scan saying I'm in process of a miscarriage.

Shortly I started to bleed so heavy that I feel like I have no powers to walk... constant dizziness with my little one around and no one else in the house.

I asked for emergency they did not wish to assess me again until I bleed so heavily that it went out of control.

They give me a drip for 30min and turn it off

Shortly thinking that it will be fine.

I lost so much blood my blood pressure were 25/45

I hardly could breath.

Doctor just popped their head in once asking how is blood pressure and shortly left the room.

I started to shake and my urine went white

I pass out and couldn't wake up over 5min (close to coma stage)

Doctor went in and asked heart beat (pretty much is heart still beating?and is she breathing?)

I needed blood transfusion but because of covid hospital do not have a spare blood.

Next day I still couldn't move I kept myself on a lucozade and high sugar.

Midwife give me iron tablets.

After 3 days in the hospital I managed to walk still low blood pressure and had sound in my head.

When I had a scan on day 2

Doctor said uterus is clean.

I've asked for another opinion from other doctor.

Came out positive

Firs doc  was wrong I still had tissues inside,it did not clear up itself and they took time to take me to the theatre probably because I was too weak. After that I went home.

I get one more appointment and get myself back into hospital by next week.

This time they should take me to the theatre and clear uterus.

Today doctor said she can't take me because apparently pieces inside uterus does not match side to get the procedure done.

I couldn't believe it.

They give me 2pregnancy tests if it come up positive I must give a ring.

One note for scan make sure they don't examine the vagina but your uterus the actual scanner were far too low and they only managed to see a bowel movements instead of actual ovaries and uterus.

They keep reporting it's hard to see.

I personally still feel it's not right.

And if it will get infected I will obviously complications and then doctor will give antibiotics.

Seriously should just sort it out asap instead of all carry on

But because of covid there is no staff and there is no blood.

There is also no people in a word

Hospital practically empty.

I will ask name and a surname of the person who continue to scan a vaginal channel instead not uterus.

And I hope they will get more professional staff and continue to do the job instead of putting it all into a mother nature hands, people are not always lucky.

Cleaners and some midwifes with experience were nice.

Loads of students and most of the time I felt treated like a rabbit instead of emergency service, as students need practice.

Food is absolutely ridiculous, if I've lost most of my bloods I need a good nutrition there is not even a porridge offers are toast or a cereal, nothing for diary allergies or vegan people.

Very negative experience.

Be prepared with your own snacks and drinks
