"My heartattack"

About: The Thorpe Practice (Hackenthorpe) Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

In Jan 2020, whilst getting ready to head off to work I felt an uncomfortable pain in my chest and numbness in my left arm. I rang 999 as they were some of the signs of the a heartattack. I wasnt afraid and not in a lot of pain.

The paramedics arrived, did an ECG and blood pressure. My blood pressure was very high and on that basis they took me in. Blood tests at the hospital confirmed I had suffered a heart attack. From there things moved very fast. I CANNOT thank the brilliant care I received. I am a woman in my forties generally fit and well  working as a gym. manager. My family and friends were in total shock.

I suffered mentally for months and still have dark days, but the good ones are now outnumbering the bad. Lockdown didn't help as I'm a people person and missed being around my lovely staff and members. My partner has been my crutch, without him supporting and encouraging me things would have been so different.

I received help from mental health, and cardio rehab these ladies also were my people who I could lean on, what ever time of day or night. The doctors and staff at the GP surgery have been absolutely fantastic. Nothing is to much trouble. Dr Beckett has been a rock and each time I have seen her I have walked out with a reassuring feeling that I will get through this tough time and live to be a grey old lady. THANK YOU all from the bottom of my heart lol. Xxxx

So glad someone has taken the time to read my story. I continue to improve but do have a few dark days. These come and go and I suppose given time they will fade away.

Thank you again for reading.
