"Thank you to the nurse who held his hand"

I wanted to send a message to the Cardiology team in the Short Stay Ward, Lincoln County Hospital to thank them for the care they gave my dad while he was in their care. Sadly he also passed away there in the ward on 19th November.

I live in Scotland and under the current restrictions I was unable to visit my dad while in hospital though staff were excellent at keeping me updated and allowing me to speak to my dad on the phone. He very sadly died before he got home so no family members were with him when he died but it gives me great comfort to know that one of the team held his hand at the end of his life and that he wasn't alone.

As a nurse myself I understand how challenging working with patients and families has been under the current Covid restrictions and wanted to thank the team for their care of my dad and specifically the nurse who held his hand at the end.
