About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Outpatients

(as a service user),

I was at IRH for an out patient appointment there was a one way system in place and hand sanitizers (well impressed). I passed a porters room directly on the left opposite the public toilets. The door was wide open and the room was full of people with no masks, no social distancing, large tv on, more like a social space prior to COVID. The rest of my visit was incredible-   professional and nursing staff adhering to all the guide lines. Can’t understand why a space so close and in clear view of the visiting public isn’t controlled and supervised.

Dear worriedpatient1023,

Thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion.

I'm glad to hear all went well with your outpatient appointment, and that you felt safe and reassured by the one way system and hand sanitisers in place. I have passed on your lovely comments to the nursing staff in outpatients, who were delighted with your praise.

It is however very disappointing that you witnessed behaviour which is non compliant with our standards and expectations. I have passed on your very helpful feedback to the portering manager to discus with staff.

Kind Regards

Heather
