"Very rude receptionist"

About: The New Folly Surgery

(as the patient),

Excellent nurses and doctors couldn’t fault them at all. However, some reception staff have a disgusting attitude that in my opinion lets the entire surgery down. I was told to book an appointment straight away if I had symptoms after starting a new medication and they refused to book me an appointment unless it was in 3 weeks time. Phoned 111 and they told me I needed to be seen within 48 hours, all of a sudden an appointment was available the next day.

Rude phone manner and extremely unhelpful. When arriving at the surgery the first time I got ignored and so did an elderly gentleman who seemed quite confused regarding how the surgery operates with the new covid restrictions in place. Second time the surgery was shut. No instructions on the door as to what to do when I had a scheduled appointment. Lobby doors were also shut so couldn’t even knock on the door. When I finally got through to them on the phone they told me it was common sense and I should of "banged on the door". No sign on the door and many people, mostly elderly were coming to the surgery and had no idea what to do and where to put prescriptions (again no sign on the door).

When I suggested to put a sign on the door a receptionist glared at us. Left me waiting for over half an hour outside in the cold because the doctor was running late which they hadn't told me - only the doctor did. A number of other people that were also waiting explained how they had encountered these issues before. Prescriptions were just being left on the floor and ignored and after visiting the pharmacy twice that day people weren’t able to collect their prescriptions because they hadn’t been processed. In a place where people should feel safe and secure in times like this in particular I find this manner and attitude very concerning.
