"Early Pregnancy Unit"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks and as you can imagine my partner and I were devastated.

I rung the early pregnancy unit at Pinderfields Hospital and because I told them I had passed the gestational sac  it felt like they weren't interested in seeing me, or even speaking o me to be honest. All they did was tell me to take a pregnancy test in a week and call them.

I was given zero support. I was actually put on hold twice so that the lady on the phone could ask her colleague advice, which suggested to me that they weren't  qualified to have that conversation.

Fast forward two weeks and I was still having to call them with results of my pregnancy test. This time is was negative. The lady on the phone actually said, 'ok that's great, we'll discharge you now then'.

She was abut to say her goodbyes when I stopped her as I had questions!

It was my first pregnancy so I had no idea what to expect. I was sat at home losing my baby, bleeding and in pain, and the only thing I could turn to was online. Thanks goodness for forums! I will not be choosing this hospital again, I have never felt so alone.
