"Mental Health Issues."

About: General practices in Lanarkshire

(as a service user),

I had been working from home for a couple of months due to the pandemic. I was finding our computers weren’t functioning the way they where in the office. I missed the interaction and support from my colleagues. My parents (mum has slight dementia) were finding this lockdown hard. Both my husband and I had the threat of redundancy looming over us. I wasn’t sleeping well. I was starting to feel very overwhelmed and unable to cope with day to day tasks, which I had always done without thinking about it. I also worried about things that I normally wouldn’t worry about. I was in a bad place mentally. I had to reach out to my doctor for help. I had no other choice.

Dear whiskeydj49

Thank you very much for sharing your story on Care Opinion. Please be reassured that you are not alone in how you have felt during the covid-19 pandemic. Many people are having to adjust to a new normal and it will be a comfort for them also to read how you have dealt with the situation. We acknowledge that people are justifiably anxious at the moment and it's very important to have up to date information and guidance. I'm so pleased that your doctor was able to help alleviate your anxieties and that you felt fully supported.

Best wishes for the future.

Lesley
