"Play specialist was an absolute gem"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Accident & Emergency (Emergency Care) Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Play Service

(as a parent/guardian),

I had to take my 18 month old daughter to a& e today as she bit in to a washing machine tablet. It was so strange and lonely in the treatment rooms however a lady play specialist popped her head in and had a little chat with me and my daughter giving her some colouring sheets and pencils to play with. She then popped back with a toy to entertain her further and even came back to say goodbye at the end of her shift. Although the nurses and doctor was friendly the play specialist made me feel so calm and during COVID she was an absolute gem! I wish I knew her name but it was 20th November about 2pmish!

Dear Mummymummy2,

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I am so glad the Play Leader was able to offer support and distraction during your time in A & E. We have shared your kind feedback with her.

Heather
