(as a relative),

On behalf of all the family I would like to thank all the staff at QEUH and Victoria ACH who have cared for dad.  Dad sadly suffered a major stroke at home and was admitted to Ward 1C where he passed away early November.  Thank you to all the team - especially Charge Nurse Angela and Dr.Niall for their care and compassion. Dr. Niall was so kind and caring in explaining the prognosis  to myself and mum.   

Thank you to all the Renal Team on level 4 who cared for dad at various stages over the last  six /half   years   and the dialysis team at the Victoria ACH where dad attended 3 days a week.  Thanks especially to the team in ward 4A who cared for dad over the summer months and were involved in his care planning in his last few days.

Thank you also to the staff in Ward 1 at the Victoria ACH where dad also spent time over summer receiving rehab.

Throughout all dad's visits to and stays in hospital he received excellent clinical care.  He loved company and listening to other people's experiences and over the years he got to know so many of the staff members - nursing, medical, AHP and  facilities and the SAS crews who took him to and from dialysis in the last couple years.  Dad  greatly appreciated the care he received.  As a family we are especially grateful for the   extra care staff gave during the recent restrictions when  we were not able to visit as we would have wished.   Nothing was a bother for anyone in the team.

In closing, thank you to Julie in the specialist palliative care team for supporting me : she appeared at just the right time.        

To all :  the last few months have been tough and things not  looking as though they will ease up any time soon so when morale is low, please remember all the patients and families who appreciate your care and the time you give to each. Keep up the good work and look after each other.

Thank you so much for all your kind words about the teams who have cared for your dad over the years, especially at such a sad and difficult time. I am delighted you and your family have had a good experience across so many different settings. In particular I will pass on your thanks to Julie who works with me in the Hospital Palliative Care Team.

It is so lovely to read all of these kind words that you have taken the time to write and it really seems that the staff who have cared for your father over the last few years have made a wonderful impression and that makes me proud to work for the NHS!

Thank you for taking the time to post this feedback at what must be a very difficult time for you and your family following the very recent loss of your dad. Please accept my sincere condolences.

It was very heartening to read of all the teams and individuals you have provided kind words about, who cared for your dad during the past few months, and over the years. I know they work very hard to provide good care for all their patients and they will be pleased to hear your feedback at this time. I will share this feedback with colleagues in the South Sector, palliative care and with our own teams in Renal and Dialysis.
