"My labour and delivery"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as the patient),

Living in moray and being a higher risk pregnancy,  due to maternal age and number for previous babies, I had to travel to Aberdeen maternity hospital to have my labour induced.

I was not looking forward to it at all, especially as it is a 70 mile beach way journey.

The staff on the induction ward were incredible and one of them was even able to arrange accommodation for my husband for the duration of my stay, due to the distance from our home in moray.

I was very well cared for there and when I was transferred round to labour ward, the excellent care continued.

After my delivery I was transferred to the midwife unit overnight and we were discharged the next morning.

Dear Mamato7,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It is great to hear that you felt well looked after and that your husband was able to be provided with accommodation.

Hopefully other mum's from Moray who may have to come to Aberdeen will read how positive your experience was and this may help them feel slightly more at ease.

Thanks again and congratulations to you and your family.

Liz
