I recently attended the Wellington Rd Surgery in Newport, Shropshire in order to have a flexible sigmoidoscopy.
Well! I am an OAP and this was a completely new experience, so somewhat understandably I was quite apprehensive: furthermore I had also reached old age without any serious illness, and had never even spent a night in hospital.
I needn't have worried. I was immediately taken in hand by a most kindly sister, who admistered the initial enema, then treated to the main process by a team comprising the doctor, sister and nurse.
They were wholly professional, and made me feel as reassured and comfortable during 'my adventure' as possible.
What's more, they were all so very pleasant while doing such demanding jobs- a smile costs nothing!
