"I didn't really feel like they listened"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I was advised by GP to attend A& E due to severe chest pain especially as I had a 24hr ecg tape that concerned them. The HCA assistant was great and caring. But the doctor I didn't really feel like they listened to me properly and they ultimately put the issue down to anxiety.

I waited over an hour for a nurse to find my notes to get painkillers organised when I was in so much pain I didn't know how to deal with it. And when I tried to tell another nurse I felt worse they said they would tell the doctor but walked away not knowing my name or my doctor and sat down speaking to another nurse instead.

The doctor when they discharged me the told me I am not to attend the department again unless I'm having classic heart attack symptoms. But heart attacks can be very varied? ! Yet when I was in A& E a few weeks ago for similar issue the cardiologist saw me and told me to come back if I get worse symptoms. This made the experience poor.
