"Spoken to like a child at school awaiting detention"

About: Kapur Family Care

(as a service user),

Mistreated, talk to me like I am a child at school awaiting detention and verbal thrashing from headteacher!

The staff here have demonstrated no understanding on how to talk and deal with human beings. They must be trained in a vet or at an army camp. They have not been prepared to 'listen' to me, instead, they jump to assumptions mid-way through a conversation like a child in the school playground. Hence why I state they cannot have had training with human beings.

They seem to be far more qualified than the actual Doctors. Without naming names I had the absolute disgust and displeasure of dealing with several of the reception staff over the past 2 months and they seemed to absolutely struggle to understand what I say to them. The simplest of tasks seem to be a huge struggle and effort for this lot. All I needed to do was to collect a prescription for my elderly mother and boy did they take me back to the school playground or what!

I attended the surgery numerous times after being told that the prescription will be ready to collect at a certain time, to be told the Doctors have had an emergency so there has been a delay (completely understandable in the current covid-19 times). Not a problem I will wait or come back later............

The roundabout carried on taking me back to my childhood being 'shouted at' by my parents or the school headmaster for arriving late to school by only 30 seconds!!

Cut a long story short.....It went back to the Doctor whom I spoke with directly who informed me that the reception staff had failed to inform them of anything and they profusely apologised for the unacceptable and troubling attitude of the front desk staff and for their lack of knowledge of how their own protocols and procedures work and assured me they would be speaking with the staff and offering training where needed.

Personally, looking back, I do not believe anything was done. How can I say that? Well let me enlighten you, its as if the staff have an 'excuse' book which they use when their own incompetence comes to the fore and use it as a get out of jail card or how can I not look stupid. This exact same scenario happened again a week later and it made me believe the Doctor gave me false promises. I could not believe I was in a time warp yet again. The only difference this time was the fact that the prescription was issued and was ready for me to collect at the front desk, yet for some strange, unexplainable reason the staff (having checked with and without spectacles) could not see it.

Far be it from me to accuse them of incompetence bu having read all the other reviews online, it seems to be a 'quality' they pride themselves on at this practice. Extremely petty and the way the matter was dealt with by the Practice Manager explains why the staff are in such disarray. The staff are a reflection on the management. They act like they do not care and laugh it off whilst looking at me as though I am really stupid, yet cannot see the troubling way in which they operate.

A mirror would be of no use as they seem to act like they think they are perfect, it is troubling for the very reason that it is a Medical Practice where sick humans go to be treated with respect, privacy, dignity and expert treatment. My mother was made to wait each time and numerous empty-handed visits and all the while this is a medication she really needed for her health and the stress caused along with the delays caused her to become more unwell.

Is this really a practice for humans and are the staff trained in how to deal with humans with the respect, privacy, dignity and professionalism they deserve. And manners cost nothing or am I in the wrong century.

I have actually made plans of transferring my Mums medical practice elsewhere as I fear for her long term well being having to deal with the staff here.
