"Getting help"

About: Inclusion Visions Thurrock (Drug & Alcohol Recovery Service)

(as a service user),

Think virtual meeting needs to be longer. Also feel you dropped the ball last time lock down ended you didn't open could go dentist or get hair cut but at this time when needed most you were still shut.

Hi Karn

Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback.

Your point about the virtual meetings is timely as we are meeting next week as a team to review our group programme and develop it further. We would like to offer additional groups and are seeking advice from service users and those who attend Open Access as to what they would like to see being offered and also for suggestions around changes that might be needed. I will feedback your comment and also if you have any further suggestions please bring that in to your meeting or get in touch.

Throughout the Pandemic, we have made many challenging decisions, the priority always being to keep our Service Users and Staff safe. We work within Trust Guidelines where every consideration is taken into account. After the 1st Lockdown we were working gradually towards restoring our service to accommodate an increasing level of face to face work, the ultimate goal being to restore face to face groupwork. Unfortunately due to the 2nd Lockdown, we cannot expand our current face to face work any further until it is deemed safe enough to do so. So while this had been difficult for many we have put a lot of work in to delivering the best treatment we can virtually and we are happy to see the numbers coming in to groups steadily increasing. We have been surprised and reassured by the positive feedback we have received about how well this has worked for so many but do appreciate that the lack of face to face human interaction can be really hard.

I hope you are continuing to attend groups and that you are finding them helpful

Once again thank you for sharing your thoughts, please keep an eye on our Facebook page which regularly updates what is happening within our service.

Take care

Emer
