"Mental Health Matters"

About: Adult Mental Health Services - Community (City) / City South Local Mental Health Team (LMHT) Millbrook Mental Health Unit / Orchid Ward

(as the patient),

I ended up in Millbrook, Orchid Ward late summer 2020. I think that Covid and Lockdown had pushed me. Also, I'd come away from my old medication and was having stresses at my flat, I couldn't cope with.

I got out in Autumn, 2020 of Millbrook Hospital and remain with Stonebridge and Georgina and team. I remain on a better set of medication as in Millbrook, I just wasn't coping that well away from parents and family and friends. So happy to be back with them, despite Lockdown rules!

Dear Mr SheltonTV2

Thankyou for taking the time to post!

we do understand how COVID has affected everyone during this difficulty time and I hope you feel your recent stay helped you refocus and back onto your recovery pathway

I hope our recent chat also helped

keep going with your work on getting the message out there about mental health, this is really inspiring and we hope to incorporate some of this into the work the activity coordinator is doing on the ward

best wishes from Orchid ward

Thank you for taking the time to offer feedback about our services, it is really appreciated. I hope that you are continuing to recover during these difficult times. As you said it is important to have contact with family and friends and I hope that this most recent lockdown is not impacting on this too much.

I shall share your feedback with the team.

Many Thanks

SallyAnn Summers

Acting Service Manager

Orchid ward have developed a creating writing group into the weekly planner to incorporate the mental health matters value looking into goal setting and feelings supported by the activity coordinator and occupational therapists

This has been slightly delayed due to significant pressures due to COVID but this remains a valued topic and will further be developed over the next few weeks
