My son aged 15 had a fall on Halloween night resulting in a trip to Craigavon area hospital. From we arrived in A & E and were then guided to paediatrics the care and attention shown to my son was first class (and to me).
He was admitted to the trauma ward for surgery on his knee cap on Sunday morning and was greeted by the same medical team who had attended to him on paediatrics the previous night. We then met with the surgeon and the anaesthetist who explained the procedures that was going to be carried out. We were also looked after by Emily the children's trauma advisor who nothing was to much trouble for. She prepped my son for surgery and accompanied us both to the theatre area. After surgery, the anaesthetist came to see me and explained how my son was and this was followed by the medical team who had performed the surgery. I was permitted to stay with my son overnight and the after surgery care was excellent. Throughout our stay the care and support we recieved was outstanding from porters, domestics, nursing staff to surgical teams. Thank you to all the staff in CAH to the care and support you are providing to the people in your care.
