"Broken lift"

About: Perth Royal Infirmary Perth Royal Infirmary / Urology

(as the patient),

I parked up at main door of Perth Royal Infirmary in disabled bay as per usual, I'm a wheelchair user 24/7 I can't walk at all, I was at the urology treatment centre. The lift I needed was broken, so  couldn't get down to the clinic. A HCA came up to assist me, we eventually had to go outside then back in another part of the building as lift was broken. Eventually got there, after treatment, it was then another puzzle to get me out of the clinic and back to my car. I got told by the wonderful unit staff that they would organise transport to get me back to the car. Porters were told I was wheelchair bound, the porter arrives with a hospital chair, which was no use to me. They then left with a grumble under their breath. I learned later that the porter had spoken to staff and suggested that I shouldn't be there if lifts were broken, which I thought was very rude.
