About: University Hospital Aintree

Their is no section for MRI but I was referred by opathamology. I rang not once but three times as I'm very allergic. This was to avoid an incomplete test or a reaction. I arrived in time wasn't asked to go through safety form by support assistant. I had to point out that I had problems with constrast and that usually a special one had to be ordered . Would it be possible to check. I was spoken to quite rudely as if it was too much trouble and as if I had learning difficulties, I was wearing the sunflower lanyard which is intended to promote respect if you have a dissibility that's not immediately evident so informed that she would get the radiographer. 45 mins later one arrived clearly pulled out of her lunch. No body had recorded that I had reacted previously and there was a risk. She gave me the information leaflet . It said in large letters do not use with patients with severe asthma! No alternative was available, no dr, no crash cart, no epipens. I had the scan without the contrast but was then informed by my consultant I should have had the contrast! This is an issue the trust needs to address . Allergies are serious and appropriate measures need to be taken if a patient flags this. I have flagged this with PALs but nothing has been done. It's hampered my treatment and made me feel I'm wasting time.
