"A credit to the hospital"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Respiratory Medicine University Hospital Ayr / X-rays and Scans

(as a service user),

From start of admission to discharge the attention and approach by the staff was amazing. I had an emergency admission from my GP surgery possible PE. Thankfully it was pleurisy and nothing to serious.

From the minute of admission I was assessed immediately informed of every step taken and reassured all the way. I feel safe and looked after and knew I was in great hands. The consultant was amazing. I have forgotten his name but when he heard I was a nurse in Glasgow he was asking my opinion on the service and my words to him were that I thought the unit was amazing. I had 5 hours watching as there really isn't much to do when waiting to go for scans and await blood tests. Scans were done very quickly and bloods taken immediately on admission.

I did all my nurse placements in Ayr hospital watching how the staff conducted themselves and how proficient and professional they were in the unit that day is a credit to the hospital.

Dear Irish72

Thank you for taking the time to provide such positive feedback. The staff involved will be delighted to hear your feedback. All staff work hard to provide the best service, in often difficult circumstances so its important to hear when we get it right. Especially from a nursing colleague.

I hope that you have made a good recovery.

Thanks again for such generous feedback

Kindest Regards

Laura
