"Poor service from MRI staff"

About: Rowley Hall Hospital

My 83 year old mother went for a MRI scan this weekend and was anxious to say the least - as are a lot of people having this done. She explained to the person doing the scan that she goes into a panic at the thought of this and the reply was "I suggest we re-book and in the meantime go to your doctor and get some diazapam to calm you down" really? so rather than have a little bit of empathy and talk her round that was the solution! She eventually managed to have the scan and the same person told her she had severe scoliosis and doubted the doctor would be able to help! Is that really her place to tell her the results? I work in a private hospital and our Imaging Team would not be telling patients the results - this is for the consultant to do! What could have been a straightforward appointment with a little care and kindness turned into my mother coming out upset. My suggestion is that this particular person changes vocation! Also my mother was given headphones to wear due to the noise of the MRI unit - these were not cleaned before or after she used them! This is something vital considering the pandemic we are in at the moment!
