I suffer with multiple different mental health problems on a daily basis. I have had multiple chats with Carseview’s crisis team due to suicidal ideation and attempts and a lot of self-harm. I was detained by police after being stopped during a suicide attempt, I had also self harmed badly resulting in treatment at Ninewells Hospital. The doctors referred me down to Carseview to talk to the team about how I’m feeling.
I was left in tears and zero help at all!
I was spoken to by two different crisis team nurses. From the moment I walked in that room to the moment I left felt like the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I was made to feel at fault for my mental health, I was told that I’m attention-seeking and that the crisis team don't feel able to help me! Is this even allowed?
I went home with the police after which I then self-harmed more as I was feeling like I had to punish myself, because it felt drilled into my head that I was at fault and they claimed I was now just attention-seeking!
It made me feel so little, trying to send me home without actually being given a chance to talk. Honestly I know I can complain all I want but nothing will be done, it’s always the same.
Why be there if you are just going to make things 10x worse.
