About: Change Grow Live Cambridgeshire / Wisbech

(as a service user),

For 25 years I have struggled with addiction, moved around the country a lot trying to escape and settle, but realized I was running from my own head which unfortunately came with me.

I ended up always working to fund my habit.

I came to Cambridgeshire around 4 months ago and engaged fully with CGL in Wisbech.

I was introduced to my worker Steve and feel he has helped me. Steve tells me that I helped myself because I had come to the end of the road, I feel Steve's lived experience also motivated my changes too.

I currently have not used any illicit drugs since accessing CGL.

And I am currently slowly reducing to eventually become drug free. And I am currently able access work again and hopeful for a full recovery.

So a massive thank you to everyone at CGL

Hi

Thank you for your comment

let me speak about staff with lived experience. At CGL we truly believe that having staff with lived experience is essential. This doesn't have to be around substances but can be around mental health, homelessness,, impact on families, the list goes on. We feel it really adds something to what we offer and we have a whole organisational approach to this.

Keep working hard at it, the support is there for you both within CGL and out in the community. Well done!!

Paul
