About: ASD &LD Division

(as a service user),

I find St. Andrews a challenging experience, because I feel it's slightly behind other private and NHS Secure Hospitals. I'm on the ASD rep and changes have started to happen and I enjoy the challenges this role brings.

But the staff are really compassionate have all try their best, despite staffing shortages and the current Pandemic restrictions. All of my my needs are being met and my Christian needs are fully met, as the chaplaincy service had is fantastic despite chaplaincy cut backs. 

Despite the national cut backs happening both in the NHS and private secure hospitals, St Andrews Healthcare as a lot to offer and then also pathway is unique and its to full ASD Pathway all the way from admission to Discharge back into the community.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to provide us with feedback on your experience of our services. Being treated somewhere you feel your needs are being met, including their religious and/or cultural needs, should always be how someone feels and I am heartened to hear that this is your experience. I would also like to acknowledge your own hard work in engaging with support and taking on the ASD Ward Rep role. Its tremendous to hear you are enjoying this challenge! The team on the ward has told us that you are fully engaged in all aspects of the Rep role and that you are passionate about driving change, especially in regards to least restrictive practice. They’ve also told us that you are keen to collect views from others and raise any issues they may not feel able to. Thankyou!

As you mentioned, things have been difficult due at times due to the global pandemic we find ourselves in. However, I can assure you we are constantly reviewing staffing numbers to ensure everyone’s safety within the Charity and that every person in our care is given the best care every day. I would like to reassure you that this is something we will continue to review and monitor.

We look forward to continuing to work with you, and our other patients, to further drive our plans to be a forward thinking provider and deliver excellence and compassion to those we care for.
