I was admitted to Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy ward 44..last week and was quickly diagnosed with acute sigmoid diverticulitis following a CT scan.
I felt very anxious during my stay especially given the current restrictions due to Covid 19.
During my stay within the ward, I was very well cared for by all staff. Two staff nurses particularly stood out for me, Jennifer and Saskia. Both were kind, caring ,reassuring and definitely made my stay a bit easier.
To the girls who came down whom specialise in taking bloods and canulation when the nursing staff were having difficulty, I'm sorry I can't remember your names, you with both amazing and kept me calm.
I would also like to praise all the nursing auxiliary staff, having been one myself i fully appreciate and understand the demands of the job. You are all the eyes, ears and backbone within a ward setting..and certainly doing an amazing job.
The cleanliness of the ward and care and attention paid to deep cleaning beds, and use of PPE was just outstanding, this made me feel safe given current situation in the world.
I am at home recovering now finishing my treatment, and hope to feel much better soon. I just want to give you all the recognition you deserve, you are ALL an asset to the NHS.
Thank you All ❤🌈
