"Aroma Cafe Stobhill Hospital"

About: New Stobhill Hospital (Glasgow)

(as a carer),

I am a support worker, the gentleman I care for was attending day surgery. The lovely HCA within the ward offered me tea, coffee or a roll with jam if I wished.  I decided to use the cafe as a treat for myself. Unfortunately, the minimal hot food that was left appeared old and dry and the one choice of sandwiches that were left did not appeal to me.

I was hoping for a lovely freshly prepared salad roll with coleslaw or similar as it is a cafe. I opted for the cheese toastie that was strangely already prepared on the hot plate. It tasted like it had been prepared for some time also.

I wasn't offered chocolate powder with my cappuccino either which was also disappointing.

I felt deflated if I'm honest as the food could be so much better within a caring environment.

Dear Kir

Thank you for taking the time to share your story.

I am sorry that you were disappointed with the lack of hot food available in our Aroma Café and the standard of food available. I have shared your post with my colleagues in Facilities and have asked for a response.

I hope that your friend is recovering well.

Kind Regards

Nicole

Dear Kir

First and foremost we can only apologise for your experience. On that particular day there was exceptional demand on the Aroma Café due to the seminar rooms requiring teas, coffees etc. We apologise for your toastie as these are usually made to order, and we don’t routinely use hot chocolate on our cappuccinos.

We are aware that there has been an increase in footfall in our café’s and have since increased the availability of soup, sandwiches and main meals.

Thank you for your feedback.

Regards
