"My A &E visit"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

After being diagnosed with lymphoma I had a day of vomiting and abdominal cramps. My GP advised I attend a and e due to risk of dehydration.   I wasn't looking forward to going due to how I was feeling but within 20 minutes I had been taken through and assessed by a wonderful nurse Sharon. Sharon understood I was in a lot of pain and very quickly had an IV set up and antisickness and pain relief. I felt better than I had all day and never felt like I was wasting anyone's time. I was then assessed by a very thorough Dr (possibly Victoria) Who made sure there was nothing immediately serious happening and I was able to go home.

Dear Mum87,

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave feedback on the Care Opinion platform. I was sorry to read that you had recently been diagnosed with lymphoma and equally sorry to read that you required to use our services at University Hospital Monklands.

I am so glad though that Sharon put you at ease straight away and that you were seen so promptly by Victoria and treated for your pain and nausea. I will be sure to pass on your kind words to both staff and hope that you are feeling much better?

Best wishes,

Gav
