It wasn't a nice place. Some staff were rude to some patients. I locked myself in my room most of the time because the place was like being in hell. I mean you might as well have killed yourself.
I felt some staff treated you like you had committed some sort of crime, there was no escaping. I wanted something from the shop. I was asleep when someone went to the shop, when I woke up I asked if someone could go to the shop as I needed a smoke and they said you were sleeping when we went to the shop, wake me up then!
Then they had the cheek to offer me tablets! I was supposed to see a doctor in the morning coz I obviously wanted out. I never got seen until around 6pm and then they told me I was moving to Triage Ward Ladywell Unit. I was devastated but much better care even, though I liked in the Maryon Ward how we could go for cigarettes whenever we felt (through the day,) when I eventually got cigarettes.
With Triage Ward we were followed everywhere, so little visits outside, they just locked you up. I had like 3 cigarettes a day and I had to down 5 cigarettes at one go to make me last. At least we got to go out in a garden thing though, Maryon Ward I feel you had us in cages!
In conclusion, basically Maryon Ward was not good, food was vile and the glued on furniture was weird.
